Chris Ottinger leads the global distribution strategy and operations for Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios Inc.’s, (MGM's) exceptional portfolio of television series, feature films and formats on a worldwide basis including managing MGM’s branded premium film channels, over-the-air broadcast networks and on-demand services.  

MGM’s television roster of more than  20 series, seen on more than  70 international networks, includes the multiple award-winning miniseries, “The Handmaid’s Tale” (HULU) and “Fargo” (FX),  “Teen Wolf” (MTV) and “Vikings” (HISTORY), in addition to the unscripted reality competition show, “Steve Harvey’s FUNDERDOME” (ABC) and the upcoming scripted murder mystery The Truth About the Harry Quebert Affair (EPIX). MGM’s feature film slate is anchored by beloved film franchises such as the longest running film franchise Bond, “Rocky” and “The Hobbit” Trilogy, as well as “Barbershop the Next Cut,” “Me Before You,” “The Magnificent Seven” and upcoming films including “Death Wish,” “Tomb Raider,” and “Fighting With My Family.” 

Ottinger leads the team responsible for the acquisition of new theatrical feature films on a worldwide basis. This catalog-building strategy is focused on acquiring wide release theatrical feature films overseas in key markets such as the UK, Germany, Scandinavia, Latin America and the U.S., as well as multi-platform releases domestically.  The team has successfully acquired films ranging from award-winning titles such as “Still Alice” and “The Hurt Locker” to wide releases like the “The Hateful Eight,” “Point Break” and “The Nice Guys.”    

In 1994, Ottinger started his career in Business Affairs at MGM and re-joined the company in 2007 as Executive Vice President, Worldwide Television, after serving as Executive Vice President for Fox World and Fox Television Studios International.  Prior to that, he served as Senior Vice President, Business Development and Co-Production at Paramount and CBS. 

Ottinger received a BA from the University of California San Diego, where he serves on the Alumni Board of Directors, and holds a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Southern California.
