A calvary-escorted stagecoach carrying a defecting Confederate intelligence officer is headed towards Union headquarters. A Confederate captain is planted among five convicted killers who are pardoned by the south so they can ambush the stagecoach, which is also carrying a shipment of gold. The action culminates when the stagecoach arrives and a desperate battle ensues. The agent and outlaws shoot it out. Finally, the killers are brought to justice.
