Before dying of a drug overdose in 1973, influential country-rock legend Gram Parsons made a pact with his road manager and friend Phil Kaufman that when the first of them passed away, the other would see to it that his body was buried at California's Jashua Tree National Park. This film from director David Caffrey (On The Nose) tells the story of Kaufman's attempts to keep his pledge to his friend. Johnny Knoxville of MTV's Jackass stars as Kaufman, who has to elude Parson's father and ex-girlfriend, played by Robert Forester and Christina Applegate, who disagree with the burial plans. Along for the ride is Larry (Michael Shannon), Kaufman's hippie friend and acomplice.
