President, Worldwide Theatrical Distribution, Home Entertainment & Acquisitions.


Erik Lomis was named President, Worldwide Theatrical Distribution, Home Entertainment & Acquisitions of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios Inc. in March 2009. In his current role, Mr. Lomis oversees the marketing and distribution of MGM's international theatrical and home entertainment releases, which are handled by Twentieth Century Fox.

Mr. Lomis has been a prominent executive and consultant at MGM over the past decade. Most recently, Mr. Lomis worked with MGM to strategize on the international release of the blockbuster hit Rocky Balboa via his consulting firm Movie Concepts, which advised on the domestic and foreign marketing and distribution of feature films. From 2000 until 2005, Mr. Lomis held the post of MGM's President of Domestic Distribution. As President, Mr. Lomis was a part of the greenlight committee and oversaw the distribution for Legally Blonde, Barber Shop, and four of the James Bond films including Goldeneye, Tomorrow Never Dies, The World is Not Enough, and Die Another Day.

Prior to this role, Mr. Lomis served as a General Sales Manager for MGM starting in 1993.

Before his tenure with MGM, Mr. Lomis was the head of the National Film Department at United Artists Theatres, as well as the head film buyer at Sameric Corp. in Philadelphia where he was also responsible for real estate development. Mr. Lomis has also served as the Chairman and President of the Will Rogers Institute and currently sits on the advisory board of Variety.
